Yesterday and today I had some clients push 305 pounds on the sled.
What I always notice isn’t just the physical effort , it’s the moment when someone realizes their body can handle more than they expected. Pushing weight forces you to stay present. There’s no rushing it, no shortcuts. You lean in, stay steady, and keep moving forward.
Strength training has a way of building confidence quietly and in a way that carries over into everyday life. When you push something heavy, lift something challenging, or carry a load that once felt intimidating, you start trusting yourself more. You move differently. You approach hard things differently.
That’s why I believe strength training is such a powerful tool, especially for women. It’s not just about building muscle it’s about learning what you’re capable of when you stop underestimating yourself.

My AMAZING client / friend Mark crushed the Spartan Beast in Vernon, NJ last weekend. It’s a half-marathon distance obstacle course race, typically covering approximately 13.1 miles (depending on terrain) and featuring around 30 obstacles.
I couldn’t be prouder!
We’ve been training together since October 2022. When he first called and asked if I trained men, I laughed and said yes, not knowing what an incredible journey we were about to start.
He thinks I challenge him, but honestly, he challenges me. Training him has gone beyond just a job. It’s fueled my passion and made me a better trainer. Clients like Mark are the reason I love what I do.
The training doesn’t stop here, he’s got two more Spartan races coming up, and I’m even joining him for the 5K Sprint in June .
Hard work and consistency really do pay off. Let’s go, Mark!

Myth vs. Fact: Strength Training for Women
🚫 Myth: Lifting weights will make you bulky.
✅ Fact: Strength training helps you build lean muscle, boost metabolism, and improve bone health especially as we age!
🚫 Myth: Cardio is the best way to get lean.
✅ Fact: Strength training is key for body recomposition. More muscle = higher calorie burn, even at rest!
🚫 Myth: You need to lift every day to see results.
✅ Fact: Consistency beats quantity. My client has been training with me 3x a week for 2+ years, focusing on full-body strength with emphasis on her arms and she’s leaner, stronger, and more confident than ever.
