Happy Sigma Alpha Founders’ Day! 🐮💚🌾
In 1978, at The Ohio State University, five women came together with the idea of creating something different from the traditional social Greek system, a place that focused on leadership, scholarship, service, and a real love for agriculture. What started as a small group with a big idea has grown into a national sisterhood that continues to support and empower women across the country.
Over the years, Sigma Alpha has grown and has chapters nationwide, bringing together women who share a passion for agriculture, personal and professional growth, and lifelong friendships. With more than 20,000 members initiated, Sigma Alpha continues to make an impact in our communities and in the agricultural industry.
Today, we celebrate our founders and all the members who have helped make Sigma Alpha what it is today. We’re so grateful for the traditions, the values, and the sisterhood, and we’re excited to keep growing, serving, and making memories together for many years to come. 🤍💚

On October 15th, 2025, from 5-8 p.m., Sigma Alpha will be hosting its annual Service Event in Moumgis.
This year's event is a spaghetti dinner, and the cost to attend is $5. Inside, you'll find food, games, and raffle baskets to win!
This semester, rather than donating to one organization, we are supporting a Sigma Alpha alumnus—Roxanne Kingsley—who, after losing her mom in a farming accident this past August, is now caring for her little sisters along with her Dad and sister. During her time at DVU, Roxanne served as president of the Dairy Society and as Sigma’s Fundraising Chair.
Thank you for your support and consideration. We hope to see you at the event!
