Today, Pine Run fifth graders took on an amazing challenge at the Elbow Lane Ropes Course!

Students had the opportunity to conquer their fears, encourage and cheer on their classmates, work together, and make memories they’ll carry with them for years to come. Many of our elementary schools participate in this wonderful program, providing students with opportunities to build confidence and strengthen friendships outside the classroom.

Great job, Pine Run! We’re so proud of you!

New playgrounds, new adventures!

This summer, Doyle and Linden Elementary Schools received updated playgrounds, and our students couldn’t be more excited! During this first week of school, students have been having a blast exploring the new structures, making new friends and enjoying plenty of fun outside.

It’s safe to say the new playgrounds are a BIG hit!

We were so excited to welcome ALL of our students back to our schools today! It was wonderful to see our classrooms and hallways filled with energy, excitement and smiling faces.

What a fantastic first day of school for our kindergarteners, 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th graders! Our kindergarteners experienced their very first day of school, while our older students explored their new buildings, classrooms and school routines. There were plenty of smiles, new experiences and excitement throughout the district! We are so happy to have our students back and can’t wait to welcome all grades for the first full day of school tomorrow!

It’s been a wonderful week having our all our teachers and staff members back!

From meaningful professional development on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), preventive behavior strategies, specially designed instruction (SDI), and more; to full-day kindergarten and grade realignment preparation; to inspiring presentations from Superintendent Dr. Joanna Wexler and district leaders; to CB South senior Sanjana Chamarty sharing her insights as a student using technology in the district, Convication and our opening week activities were filled with excitement for a milestone year and colleagues learning and connecting.

We’re so glad we’re all back together and can’t wait to welcome our students next week!

We're so excited to welcome all our teachers back this week! Educators from across the district returned to our schools yesterday, and our elementary teachers officially celebrated the start of a new year today at the first of two Convocation ceremonies we'll host this week. Our Convocation for secondary teachers will be held tomorrow. At today's Convocation, attendees reconnected with colleagues from all of our elementary schools and heard from Superintendent Dr. Joanna Wexler about prioritizing relationships, meaningful connection, and possibility — part of this year's theme "Move Forward. Imagine More." All teachers are also participating in professional development this week. We’re so glad you’re here and can’t wait for an amazing school year!

Over the last week, our middle schools have hosted peer mentor, open house, and schedule pick-up events for students and families. This year, two grades of new students will enter each school, while the 8th graders suddenly become the elders in the building from being the youngest last year.

At Unami, 60 8th-grader peer mentors came together to prepare for welcoming more than 500 new sixth and seventh graders. Led by Mr. Powell and Mrs. Norris, the students were assigned to their 6th and 7th grade mentees and reviewed beginning-of-the-year lessons and supports, participated is leadership training, and brainstormed ways to help the new students feel connected to the Unami community throughout the year.

Similarly, Holicong hosted a Summer Leadership Academy for a group of 8th graders called the “Colonial Crew,” and all schools held their schedule pick-up/open house day today. At Lenape, kids and parents were excited to learn more about the school, their classes, and their lockers!
