So special to meet Mr. James Carroll and Ted Ormai of the New Arts Program in Kutztown, a remarkable program that ran for 50 years, now preserved in the archives of the Smithsonian Institution.
It was a mind-blowing experience to learn from them about the New Arts Program. The passion, education, curiosity, and questions. All devoted to creating a space where artists, musicians, and dancers could perform, share their work and talent, and explore new possibilities. It was deeply inspiring, and a reminder of why we create—and how meaningful it is to pass it along through creative teaching at Musica Vera Academy. What an incredible experience we had.
We felt so fortunate to hear incredible stories that shaped the artists involved: Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Meredith Monk, Jon Gibson, Yvonne Rainer, Keith Haring, Allen Ginsberg, and so many others.

Celebrate springtime with Yu S. Artistry Dance Company, in collaboration with Musica Vera Academy, presenting Echoes of Tranquility, a contemporary Japanese dance performance featuring Yuka Iseda, Principal Dancer of the Philadelphia Ballet.
Enjoy a live piano performance by Yuko Gordon, featuring works by Debussy, Takemitsu, Chopin, and more—an original musical creation alongside the dance. Stay after the performance for a Q&A.
