I have received word that Paul Ahlstrom, Nancy’s husband has passed away. Funeral will be later this week or weekend. Nancy is not aware as she is suffering with dementia. I will send flowers on our behalf.

Ahlstrom anniversary (sent from Nancy’s daughter, Kim)

My parents Paul Ahlstrom and Nancy Clutter Ahlstrom will be celebrating their anniversary soon. September 2nd. Want to surprise them with a cards and cake. Cards can be sent to my house 24312 Nelson ave Fort Dodge Iowa 50501. With all that has been going on lately want to bring them both something to smile about 😄.

Here is the news you’ve been waiting for…

The Dows Corn Days parade will take place on Saturday, August 6 at 10 o’clock. Loren and I have arranged a float for all Dows staff. to ride in the parade. We have a low style trailer and a bale rack (if needed) to haul our favorite people. The trailer will accommodate lawn chairs. I have a few that I will be bringing, but I might not have enough for everyone.

Loren has an air conditioned house by the parade start line where we can wait until parade time. The address is 300 S Garfield. I will be bringing some sweet treats for us to enjoy before the parade and a cooler full of bottled water along as well.

Start practicing your parade wave, and feel free to bring candy or other items to throw out during the parade. I don’t have everyone on Facebook so please share, share, share!

There are sign-up sheets in the park after the parade for graduating classes and staff to sign in.  This year will be the first time a plaque will recognize the group with the most signatures. I know we have some pretty competitive folks, so let’s plan to be on the top of the list for this inaugural and annual event.

Virginia is preparing some entertainment for the park. It’s kind of a Dows School Trivia format which I’m sure will be very entertaining.  Be ready for some great memories and good times!
