Today we celebrated the retirement of one of our amazing faculty members, Nancy Hollins!!

Nancy Hollins was the Chair of the Occupational Therapy program at Utica College. She is a licensed occupational therapist with clinical experience that includes work with both children and adults in settings such as acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, long term care, residential care, home care and schools.

We are so lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Hollins. She is an incredible leader, she is kind and compassionate, and her passion for the occupational therapy practice is admirable. We are going to miss her at UC!! 💛

Hello friends!! ❤️ This week is Epidermolysis Bullosa Awareness Week! One of the professors in the UCOT program has a son with this condition and we would like to spread awareness!

A quick background on Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), it is a connective tissue disorder that leads to the formation of blisters when friction occurs on the skin.

To help spread awareness about Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), we are having a spirit week! The flyer is pictured, and we would love it if everyone could participate.

If you decide to dress up, please take pictures of you and your friends so you can be featured on the UC SOTA Facebook and Instagram page. This is a fun way to spread awareness about this condition and support those within our UC community!

🌎 HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE 🌎

Happy Monday, everyone!
The Utica College Student Occupational Therapy Association is happy to partner with Community Rehab Project to raise money for their new clinic. The current clinic provides the people of Gonaives, Haiti with free rehabilitative services for both children and adults with multiple diagnoses. The clinic also gives food, water, and vitamins to patients.
Unfortunately, the clinic has to relocate by December 15, 2020. In efforts to prevent shutting down the clinic, UCOT is asking that our community join forces for an impactful cause. Fifty percent of proceeds will go directly to the Community Rehab Project, while the remaining funds will be given to the Abraham House located right here in Utica. For those who don’t know, the Abraham House provides free hospice care for the terminally ill. Both of these nonprofits are making a positive impact on their communities.

Please help us raise money and awareness for this great cause. Every donation and “share” helps! Donations can be made using the link below. The fundraiser will end October 31, 2020.

UCOT challenges the Utica College Physical Therapy Society to create their own fundraiser for the new clinic.
