We JUST got to bargaining TODAY, and LESPA is not impressed.
Based on the proposal presented at the bargaining table, 17% of the proposed millage allocation would go toward LESPA employees. For employees who help keep our schools operating every single day, 17% is simply not enough.
LESPA employees open schools, run offices, manage money, support classrooms, handle paperwork, assist students, change 💩 diapers, and clean up everybody else’s mess. They are 100% essential to the operation of our schools.
Yet when it comes time to divide the proposed millage funding, LESPA’s share is 17 out of 100.
We can call that a proposal. We can call it a starting point. But we will not call it appreciation.
LESPA believes our employees deserve better. We intend to bargain accordingly.
100% ESSENTIAL. MORE THAN 17% WORTHY.
