Congratulations to IB Senior, Tram Pham, who attended the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Summer Academy of Mathematics & Science (SAMS) this past summer. This rigorous, 6-week program provides high-achieving students the opportunity to explore STEM-related fields at one of the nations top universities. As part of her program, Tram and 2 other SAMS scholars created customized cosmetic products based on the specific skin needs of a potential customer. Using their knowledge of chemical compounds and reactions, the team developed a prototype formula for a gel cleanser, moisturizer and lip gloss. We had such a great time with Bánh GVL | Vietnamese Pop up ! The food was fantastic and the company was as even better! Southside High School IB Program graduate, Dat Nguyen and his wife Kamila, run this incredible pop up restaurant focused on authentic Vietnamese street food and community engagement.
