Proud to spend time Saturday morning, down the ocean at in Ocean City, Maryland with Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman cleaning up the shoreline and dunes. America’s best governor joined in, Gov. Wes Moore!

As part of the Comptroller’s Community Corps, we picked up glass, plastics, and general waste to protect Maryland's coastal environment.

The Comptroller has been dedicated to zero-waste policies, including past sponsorship of the Plastic Bag Reduction Act as a state delegate. She championed efforts to ban expanded polystyrene food service containers in Maryland - the first in the nation!

We are honored to have time with the Gov to share an intiative our sister social enterprise CannabizMD has launched, “Initiative 183”, dedicated to ensuring that cannabis policy law, policy, and science education is implemented to support Maryland Chapter 183 (Senate Bill 149), the first in the nation state law delivering employment protections for first responders using medical cannabis. The law goes into effect October 1, 2026 without an education plan in place.

Many of our first responders’ are veterans whose service “earned” PTSD is compounded by their brave work as first responders. Medical cannabis does deliver therapeutic benefits for managing the symptoms of PTSD. Our first responders and their employers, state municipalities, need to know the potential therapeutic benefits and harms along with federal and state cannabis laws.

As a very proud daughter of an Amy Purple Heart Veteran who stormed the beaches of Normandy at 17 yo, the CannabizMD initiative honors our and CannabizMD CEO/Founder Jacquie Cohen Roth’s dad’s legacy as a man of science, strong character, and sound reason thousands of veterans and first responders like her dad.

As an Army Veteran, the Gov expressed great interest in this very necessary education plan where none currently exists.

Stay tuned for updates on CannabizMD Initiative183. Please DM to support.

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Malik Harp to the CannabizMD team!

Malik joins us as our sister CannabizMD
as its new Business Development Associate. His path here is one we’re especially proud of. We first met Malik through our state-funded CannaWorkforce training program, where his drive and command of the material stood out from the start.

Some of you may already recognize him from Maryland’s cannabis industry, where he worked as a dispensary attendant on the Eastern Shore. That frontline experience gives Malik a real understanding of what operators and agents navigate every day. This is exactly the perspective we want guiding our conversations with Maryland’s licensed operators and the entire CannabizMD ecosystem.

Welcome to the team, Malik. We’re glad you’re here. 💚

May is Women's Health Month + Mental Health Awareness Month, and we're bringing the SCIENCE.

🤯 Did you know your hormones literally change how cannabis works in your body?

💊 Women may feel pain relief + mood effects more intensely than men. Not because you're "sensitive," but because your biology is literally built different

Here's what the cannabis research actually says:

🔬Estrogen increases CB1 receptors—the main receptors THC binds to in your brain. These are areas involved in movement, memory, stress response, and decision-making
📈 More estrogen = stronger endocannabinoid system (ECS) activity. This means cannabis hits differently depending on where you are in your cycle.
🐭🧠 In animal studies, male brains tend to have more CB1 receptors in several specific regions. But when researchers looked at the whole brain picture in some studies, females actually came out ahead in overall receptor density.
‼️ Women's CB1 receptor levels actually increase as they age, particularly in areas tied to emotion, memory, and movement.

😤 And yet? Most cannabis research was done on male subjects.

As a woman-founded + woman-owned company, CannabizMD is here to change that narrative with one evidence-based conversation at a time.

💙May is Mental Health Awareness Month AND Women’s Health Month. We’re not letting it pass quietly. 💙

➡️ Swipe through this one. All the way.

Because “Happy Mother’s Day” doesn’t tell the full story for every woman. For millions of moms, every single day means navigating abuse, fear, and survival — while still showing up for their kids, their jobs, and everyone else.

Our founder did.

That’s not strength. That’s survival. And there’s a difference.

We put together the numbers, the signs, and the resources — because awareness without action is just noise.

‼️🐔 🥚 💰 Hey Cannabis Industry: don't count your chickens before they're hatched.

🥱 The DEA's current rescheduling proceeding has a sobering historical precedent. The last time the agency held administrative hearings on cannabis scheduling was the summer of 1986. That process spanned two years of testimony and thousands of pages of documentation before DEA Administrator John Lawn issued a final order in December 1989. (54 Fed. Reg. 53767.) Then, in April 1991, a federal appeals court ruled the order inadequate and sent it back for revision, pushing resolution well into the following decade.

📅 The current proceeding has tracked similarly. Hearings set to begin January 21, 2025, were canceled eight days prior when Chief ALJ John Mulrooney stayed proceedings over allegations that the DEA engaged in improper ex parte communications with anti-rescheduling participants. (DEA Docket No. 1362.) Now the industry awaits a new round of hearings scheduled for June 2026.

🤔 🥬 What that means practically: both state medical and adult-use markets remain in federal legal limbo. Schedule III rescheduling, even if finalized, would not resolve the conflict between state law and the Controlled Substances Act for adult-use operators. Neither the scope nor the terms of any federal accommodation are settled; history suggests the timeline is measured in years, not months.

😏 And given this White House's track record, one has to wonder if resolution arrives just in time for the midterms.

👉 In the meantime, there is one concrete action item: the DEA has established an expedited registration pathway for state-licensed medical ma*****na entities. The dedicated DEA Medical Ma*****na Dispensary Registration Portal opens 4/29/2026 at 9:00 AM ET.
