Brandywine Virtual Academy (BVA) students recently stepped outside the virtual classroom for a hands‑on learning experience at Longwood Gardens. The visit reinforced BVA’s commitment to pairing high‑quality virtual instruction with meaningful, real‑world learning. Experiences like this allow students to apply academic concepts, build connections, and engage with their learning in new ways. As BVA looks ahead, plans are underway to expand in‑person learning opportunities next school year, offering students even more ways to learn and connect beyond the screen.

Every day, BVA students show us what kindness looks like through the way they support classmates, engage respectfully online, and bring compassion into their learning communities. Their actions remind us that kindness isn’t just a word. Kindness is a choice, a mindset, and a difference you make for someone else.

Thank you, BVA students, for being the “I” in KIND. Your positivity strengthens our virtual classrooms and inspires our entire community.

This fall, BVA staff supported a growing number of high school students interested in getting a head start on college through dual enrollment opportunities with Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC).

During two recent application sessions, BVA’s student support liaisons and student advising team guided 37 students through the process of creating accounts, completing applications, and preparing the materials required for spring 2026 course registration. This represents the largest wave of interest to date, leading to additional transcript and documentation support throughout December and January.

Dual enrollment allows eligible students to earn college credits, often fulfilling high school graduation requirements at the same time, while exploring advanced academic pathways and building confidence for their postsecondary journey.
