*****UPDATE*****
Police have apprehended one suspect and believe the second suspect has fled the area on foot. Police believe the individual is no longer a threat to the area and have recommended that we resume normal activities at the schools. Dismissal will proceed as usual.
We are sharing these details out of an abundance of caution and to help ensure that you have the most accurate and complete information. The safety and security of our students is our number one concern and we appreciate your vigilance and support in this matter. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s principal. If you have any information that may aid in the investigation, please contact Uwchlan Township Police at (610) 363-6947.
****************
At the request of local law enforcement, the Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center and Shamona Creek Elementary School are currently on a modified lock down due to a daytime home burglary in the area. Out of an abundance of caution, we have secured these buildings to prevent anyone from entering or exiting the building. Students are still free to move between classrooms within their building. We do not believe there is a threat to our students, and are working closely with local law enforcement.
PM kindergarten will proceed as usual. Students will be individually escorted to the building by DASD staff. Local law enforcement, the DASD chief security officer as well as a security guard will be on site as an added precaution.
We hope this situation will be resolved quickly and will provide additional information and updates as they become available.

In cooperation with the Upper Uwchlan Police Department, we are sending this message to all our families. If you have any information or have seen him, please contact 911 immediately.
The Upper Uwchlan Township Police Department is attempting to locate a missing 11 year old male, 5'2, 130 lbs, with dirty blond hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a gray under armor shirt and black shorts with black shoes. He was last seen at 112 Gottier Dr last evening. There are helicopters assisting with the search. There is no safety issue for residents in the area.
Due to a serious car accident on Rt. 113 and subsequent Rt. 113 road closure, transportation may be delayed for all students throughout the district. We anticipate the delays to be more on the eastern end of the district.
Lionville Elementary School will be used this evening as a training location by the West Chester Regional Emergency Response Team. This team is composed of several local police departments who will be using the facility to practice emergency preparedness. As there will be various police vehicles and personnel involved, we wanted to advise those who might be in the area this evening, that this is only a training event and there is no emergency or cause for concern.
