CCIU Practical Nursing Program

So proud to highlight students from our Practical Nursing Program, Cohort #135, who volunteered at the Annual MOMMIE Shower community event last week. Their compassion, teamwork, and commitment to serving others truly reflect the heart of nursing. Thank you for making a meaningful difference and supporting families in our community.

Our Practical Nursing Program recently hosted its annual Career Fair, bringing together 70 students, regional health care employers, and higher education partners for a day focused on what comes next.

Level 3 and Level 4 students arrived prepared, resumes in hand, ready to build connections and explore opportunities, from entry-level LPN roles to pathways for continued education and career growth across Chester County and beyond.

We were proud to welcome 19 vendors representing a strong mix of health care organizations and academic institutions. Their time, insight, and engagement gave students a valuable, real-world look at hiring expectations, benefits, and professional advancement.

The energy in the room reflected what this program is all about: students stepping confidently into their professional identities, employers recognizing their potential, and a community committed to supporting the next generation of practical nurses.

Our community is mourning the loss of Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Timothy O'Connor Jr., who was killed in the line of duty. As we honor his life and service, and due to surrounding road closures, please review the important schedule adjustments below.

• Rorke Award Ceremony (3/17): Moved to 3/23
• The Academic Competition Championship match will be held Tuesday, 3/24/26 at 7:00 p.m.
• Revisionist Wealth’s The Changing World of Retirement Planning seminar scheduled on Tuesday, 3/17 has been rescheduled to Thursday, 3/26/26.
• PSERS Foundations (3/18): Canceled
• The Estate Planning Seminars with The Northeastern Group scheduled on Tuesday, 3/17 and Wednesday, 3/18 have been rescheduled to Tuesday, 5/26 and Wednesday, 5/27/26.

⚠️ Early Dismissal – Today at 1:00 PM ⚠️

Due to the forecast for straight-line winds and severe storms this afternoon, the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) will implement an early dismissal at 1:00 p.m. today for all CCIU schools and programs. Staff will dismiss after all students leave schools and campuses.

All PM sessions and after-school activities are cancelled. Transportation schedules will be adjusted accordingly.

The safety of our learners, staff, and families remains our top priority. Please monitor local weather updates and travel safely.

CCIU Practical Nursing Program – West Grove Campus

The Practical Nursing Program (PNP) is expanding opportunities for future nurses in our region with the reopening of the program at our TCHS Pennock's Bridge campus in West Grove, PA!

Individuals interested in the PNP West Grove campus program are encouraged to email Director of PNP Talonda Rogers at [email protected] to be added to an interest list and receive updates as more information becomes available. 🩺📩

Due to anticipated weather and road conditions, all CCIU buildings and schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

-Preschool Special Education: No AM session
-Educational Service Center staff: Report at 9:30 a.m. (please contact your direct supervisor with any questions)

Please travel safely and use extra caution on the roads.

Due to the predicted inclement weather, all Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) buildings and schools will be closed on Monday, February 23.

TCHS campuses will operate under a Flexible Instructional Day (FID).

Office staff are expected to work remotely. Staff with questions should contact their direct supervisor.
