Today, we’re highlighting Kelly Byrne, a longtime member of the Teaching and Learning Department who dedicated 17.5 years of service to DASD.

Her post-retirement plans include: “Spending time with my Australian Labradoodle, Banjo (walking, hiking, etc.), playing golf, traveling, and working part-time.” 💙💛

Today we commemorate the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as our nation’s flag in 1777.

Throwback to Bollywood Dance Night 2026, hosted by the Downingtown East Desi Student Union! This event brought together over 80 students across DASD to celebrate South Asian culture through music, food, dance, and community. 🎉

Congratulations to the Tectonic Titans! 🤖🏆

Five DASD students competed in the FIRST Lego League American Robotics Invitational:

Competing against 68 teams representing 44 FIRST Lego League regions and more than 28 states, they earned the Championship Second Place Award! 👏

Downingtown West's Transition Program toured CBS Philadelphia with meteorologist Andrew Kozak as their guide. Students got a firsthand look at how news broadcasts come together and met many of the professionals who work behind the scenes.
