For what feels like an eternity, Novak Djokovic has stood as an immovable force in the realm of men’s tennis. With an impressive tally of 24 Grand Slam titles and counting, Djokovic holds the record for the most Grand Slam victories in the men’s game. His success is no stroke of luck; it’s the result of relentless hard work and meticulous preparation. It's been an amazing 10 weeks! We've had a great time coaching all the students and leading them on their tennis journey! Our hope is that by teaching the kids in a interactive and fun learning environment filled with matchplay and games, that the kids have the skills and motivation to pursue their tennis dreams!
For our final tournament, we played 3 competitive half-set matches--2 singles and 1 doubles match. The students played really well and kept good sportsmanship throughout. And at the end, received our certificates and enjoyed some donuts!
We encourage everyone to practice over the break to keep their skills fresh! Footwork and swing drills are great for practice at home, and they head out to the court with a partner in good weather!
Thank you once again and we'll see you all in the spring!

We just closed out our week 9 session and are ready for our final tournament next week!
This session was structured to get the players ready for their big matches next week. Our beginner and intermediate players learned how to play on junior sized courts, and rally consistently. They also indulged in competitive singles matchplay as they reviewed how to keep score and warmup as well! Overall, we are very excited to see them play next week and show off their skills!
Our little ones are also having fun, getting ready for their final challenge next week where they will be tested on all of their skills as well! They worked on groundstrokes, volleys, and even some fun games as they pushed themselves to improve!
This was one of our best sessions! We are really proud of all of the players as it is very impressive to see how far they've come since they started the session.

Hi everyone! Another amazing session for week 8! The weather was just as amazing today and it was really great to get out to the courts! As just 2 weeks remain, the players are getting ready for our final tournament on week 10.
Until today, we have been focusing on consistency and keeping the ball in play, which is the most important pillar of tennis. The other 2 pillars are power and placement, both of which we introduced this session!
Our intermediate players endured a thrilling set of matchplay today as they played tournament style singles matches against partners. They learned correct footwork, court position, how to keep score, and most importantly how to win singles games!
Our beginner players played short-court singles and doubles matchplay, controlling power and placement of shots. They also improved their volley skills and footwork through drills in the beginning.
Our players' hard work was rewarded by chocolate chip cookies at the end of the session! We're really looking forward to the tournament in 2 sessions, and see our players progression along their tennis journey!🎾🎾🎾

Week 7: Matchplay Madness
Hello everyone! Once again we close another successful session of tennis, full of match play and candy!! 🍭
To start the class, our intermediate players warmed up by hitting their forehands and backhands. They then reviewed their serves by undergoing target practice. When they hit the targets they were rewarded with more than enough candy😋. Then it was time for the matches to begin. We started by playing singles matches between all the players, and rounded up the session by playing some doubles!
Our beginners also got some matchplay in as they first started by practicing their consistency, then moving onto play some short court matches! They also reviewed some of the important strokes such as volleys, forehands, and backhands! They too were rewarded with candy as motivation!
This session was a really good way to prepare for the final session which will be a tournament between the students! It is great to see how fast they are picking up the rules of tennis, and strategy behind the game!!🎾

Week 6: Perfect Practice
This weeks focus was on perfect practice. Our coach always said that practice does not make perfect; practice makes permanent, and perfect practice makes perfect.
This week, our intermediate players mastered the skill of ball placement, and progressed into learning the new shot of serves. They learned the forms and progressions of the serve and then were able to practice it. The serve is dubbed as one of the “most important shots in all of tennis” so we wanted to introduce the concept this lesson.
Our beginner players focused on consistent short-court rallying to improve consistency! We played singles matches, which became very competitive, as players fought hard to win the candy prize! We also re-emphasized the importance of the ground strokes and volleys by doing drills to improve their consistency.
Overall, we are very proud of all the players as they have a very open minded attitude towards grasping the new concepts! Tennis is a challenging game but through their perfect practice they are on their way to mastering it!🎾🎾🎾

Week 5: Rallying Roundabout
Hello everyone!
We're halfway through the season and the kids are looking amazing! As their forehand and backhand technique improves, we're starting to see some progress in the quality and length of points when we play games, especially for the intermediates. And as the kids get to know each other better, we're having fun engaging in some friendly competition!
Today's focus was rallying, which is trying to sustain a point for the longest duration while maintaining correct form. After we warmed up with a few basic drills, the beginners worked on volley-to-volley rallies and moved on to short court hitting with a partner. Towards the end, we worked on shot placement with cones.
The intermediates worked on short court rallying, both cross court and down-the-line, as well as volley practice drills. We played a game of doubles, which became quite competitive with some extended points. We're excited to teach the students more about singles and doubles matchplay and serving in the future. We ended off the session with a group game of burn.
Today was one of the best sessions, despite the weather, and we're looking forward to what the rest of the season brings!
