It is with a heavy heart that I bring you the sad news of Dr. Mary Stauffer’s passing. The was founded over 25 years ago and has donated over $6 million to the students and teachers of Downey schools. The best way to honor the memory of Dr. Stauffer is to start and continue to add to a college savings plan for your child. message from a 1999 alum! We received this message from a former scholarship award recipient from the class of ‘99! If you give a student a scholarship... then she’ll want to buy books... then she’ll earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology... then she’ll earn a Masters in Educational Policy Studies... then she’ll be in her final stages of her doctorate! Way to go Xochitl, best of luck to you! It’s so great to see how the scholarships provided from the go such a long way. The next time you have the opportunity to help someone...please remember a little help goes a long way!

Here is our of Stauffer Scholarship award recipients! These two students Nikoletta & Nektaria Anagnostou, were
both awarded the following...
Stauffer Scholar of the Year in 2013 & 2014 and they continued to keep straight A’s and were Stauffer Scholars in 2015.
They received Scholar Athlete awards: 2017, 2018, 2019. They also were awarded the Junior 4.0 Scholarship Award in 2019
