Happy New Year Classmates! I hope you are doing well and staying healthy. The committee and I wanted to share a great article that came out in The Downey Patriot honoring our friend Jack Bunnett. Jack received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of service and leadership in the legal community.

First and foremost Happy Birthday to everyone of the Class of 72. We made it to 70 and I hope everyone is doing well.

To celebrate the “ big O” the reunion committee thought it would be great to get together and celebrate our birthdays with a birthday gathering.

Attached you will find a flyer with all of the pertinent information about our class 70th birthday party. As a reminder, the party will be held on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, late afternoon and evening. There will be no charge to you for attending "our" birthday party, however, we do ask that you RSVP to let us know if you will be coming, and if you will be bringing someone with you. This is important for our planning efforts.

The reunion is on! It will be on Saturday, August 13th, 2022 at 6 pm - 11 pm. The event will be held at the Skylinks at Long Beach Golf Course, 4800 E. Wardlow Rd, Long Beach, 90808.

The cost is $99.00/person. Please make checks payable to Pius X Class of 72 Reunion. Send payments to Laura Sanchez Green, 151 Waterfall Lane, Brea, Ca. 90821.

Free Parking, Summer Casual Attire, Several Hotels are nearby (more to follow).
Airports Nearby: LB Airport - across the street, LAX - 30-40 minutes away.

If you would like to sponsor/donate towards our reunion, the following is available:

Cost of DJ - $500-$700
Photo Booth - $300-500
Raffle Prizes - $50 and up
Any other amount or raffle item to donate would be appreciated.

We are considering making a donation to our alma mater (now called St. Pius X St. Matthias Academy or PMA OR beginning a Student Scholarship for the Class of 72 ( more to follow).

Since this is our 50th High School Reunion, we want to make it our best Reunion yet and we expect a great turnout. We encourage you, if you plan on attending, to send your payment ASAP. I will send periodic updates as the Reunion date approaches.

Hello Classmates,
Two months ago I posted that we were starting to plan our 50th reunion for next year. We are still researching venues for our event and are still entertaining the idea for September or October, 2022, timeframe on a Saturday evening.

I will keep you all posted on the outcome of our next meeting. If anyone has any suggestions on venues that might interest you please let me know and I will share your ideas with the committee.

Hello Fellow Pius X Alums,
As you may have heard, Pius X (now called Pius Matthias Academy or PMA) brought football back 3 years ago and currently is undefeated (7-0) and ranked #1 in CIF, division 14! This is probably the best start in the history of football at Pius. This Friday, Oct. 25th is Homecoming vs. Verbum Dei. Please see attached flyer re: Alumni tailgate on Senior Square before the game. For only $20, you can get an alumni T-Shirt, admission to the alumni tailgate on Senior Square from 5 - 7 (all food, beer & margaritas covered) and admission to the game. Parking is only $5 (not $10 as stated on flyer). If you can't make the tailgate and want to attend the game, admission is $7 and there will be a special alumni section in the stands. Hello Classmates,

We are now just 5 weeks away from our 45th class reunion. Most of you already know, but in case you have not heard, we have reserved the gym at our former Pius X High School campus (currently St. Pius X - St. Matthias Academy - PMA) on Saturday, June 24th, from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, for the reunion.

We would like to thank all of you who have sent your checks in to reserve your place at the reunion.

At this point, however, we are experiencing a much lower sign-up rate for our 45th reunion than anticipated. Currently, we have received checks from just 37 classmates, and at past reunions, we have had over 100 attendees.

If you are planning to attend and have not yet responded, we are requesting that you either mail your check to us in the next three days - or respond to this notice by Wednesday, May 17th to let us know that you are coming. We may have to cancel the reunion, or make some changes to what is planned, if we do not hear from you.

Thanks again for those of you who have already been in touch with us. We look forward to seeing everyone on June 24th.
