Community High School District 99 The District 99 page informs parents, students, staff, and community members about our achievements, events and activities. This is not an open or public forum.

Community High School District 99's two award-winning high schools, North High School and South High School in Downers Grove, serve a population of more than 65,000 residents and an enrollment of over 5,300 students from Bolingbrook, Darien, Downers Grove, Lisle, Oak Brook, Westmont and Woodridge. Congratulations to Downers Grove North's Jeff Grant on being named the inaugural recipient of the Friend of the Planet Excellence in Climate Education Award by the National Center for Science Education (NCSE)! This award recognizes exceptional K-12 educators whose work exemplifies thorough climate change education.

Jeff teaches biology and anatomy & physiology with extraordinary passion, and we couldn’t be prouder to see his hard work recognized nationwide. 🌍🔬

Yesterday’s graduation celebration at the historic Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove was filled with pride, smiles, and unforgettable moments as students crossed the stage and celebrated this incredible milestone.

District 99 proudly celebrates Associate Superintendent for Student Learning Gina Ziccardi, who was honored this morning with the Dr. Scott J. Helton Excellence in Educational Leadership Award.

This prestigious recognition honors educational leaders who exemplify humility, gratitude, allyship, positivity, advocacy, mentorship, and relationship-building. These are qualities Gina demonstrates every day in service to students, staff, families, and the broader community.

Through her leadership, District 99 has expanded opportunities for students through dual credit programming, strengthened equity and access initiatives, championed support for multilingual learners and underserved students, and cultivated a culture rooted in collaboration and care.
