It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Eugene “Gene” Faermark from Michigan on July 22, 2026.

Gene was a long-time Spartan Alumni with us for well over two decades, a great friend, and was proud to be affiliated with our organization.

Gene was an LEO and would bring his guys down from Michigan in the early 2000’s to attend our Speed on Steel and Tactical Speed Shooting courses when we were running those courses at the old Harvey PD range.

He appreciated the value of our LE training programs and eventually became our LE training liaison in Michigan, helping us get registered as a State of Michigan MCOLES LE training vendor and hosting our tactical handgun, rifle and shotgun training programs up there.

He assisted in coordinating our fi****ms training program presentations in Lake Mills, Lapeer, Port Huron, Metamora, Oakley and Niles Michigan, which allowed us to train hundreds of LEO’s and citizens from Michigan in our training programs up there.

Gene was a dedicated advocate to the art of training with fi****ms for personal defense and his loss greatly impacts the Michigan Law Enforcement community, and he will be sadly missed.

Please keep the Faermark family in your thoughts and prayers as they grieve the loss of their loved one. Stay safe. – Krup

For those of you that have been asking about when we’d be offering another 3-day NRA Pistol Instructor Certification Course, we were able to get one more on the schedule this year before we close our training division.

This class will be restricted to Spartan Alumni ONLY again and we will be limiting this instructor class to (14) people. This class is going to fill fast, so jump in while slots are still available and we’ll see you guys on the range! Stay safe. – Krup
