The first show day for the 2026 Trojans Marching Band is in the books! Featuring brand new uniforms from DeMoulin Bros & Co and a brand new drumline from Pearl Drums Official ! Our Class of 2027 has never looked better! Thank you all the volunteers who lent a hand and helped out on Friday, and to the students for their great first showing! Here’s to another this Friday and many more to come this season!

Band Camp 2026 came to a close tonight, and that meant putting more halftime drill and music on the field; awarding our Golden Speedsters and the Golden Shako to our best marcher, Josh, and best newcomer, Aidan; watching Hope win the annual Friday morning march off; playing through our favorite stands tunes; working in more sectional time; walking the trust tunnels; having music ensemble block; and racing the snapping circles. Thank you to the students for your hard work, all the laughs, and all the friendship; thank you to our leaders for their stewardship of their sections; thank you to our staff for their guidance and wisdom; and thank you to the families who volunteered, carpooled, and packed lunches for their unending support. It was a good week. We got better.

Day 3 of Band Camp meant we wrapped up Pre-Game, had Section Relay Races, started working on halftime music, got some sectional time, and squeezed in the final reps of Pre-Game before the rain hit! And, of course, the annual Band Family Orientation meeting!

On May 12th, the DGN Jazz Ensemble got to perform with the Pete Ellman Big Band at the Venue in Aurora! The ensemble brought out their favorite pieces from the to put on a lively set at one of their favorite places to play. From Basie, to Ellington, to Corea, the students played some really excellent music by the greats! It was also a very special way to send off our Seniors in Jazz Ensemble. Better yet, our very own Connor, Jane, and Shannon got to sit in and play with the Ellman Band!

On May 7th, the DGN Concert Band and Wind Symphony traveled to Northern Illinois University to person in the ILMEA Large Ensemble Festival! Our students had the opportunity to perform their Spring Concert music in a beautiful concert hall, and receive valuable feedback from great clinicians, all while getting to spend the day together! This year, all three bands had the opportunity to perform off campus for adjudication, a feat that brings us so much pride in our students and their hard work, and musicianship.

The DGN Band Spring Concert was a beautiful night of music. Featuring works from Jacob de Haan, John P. Paynter, Darius Milhaud, John Philip Sousa, and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsokov, the DGN Concert Band, Wind Symphony, and Wind Ensemble performed a great concert for our community. A special shout-out to all of our Seniors on their final concert as a DGN Band member!
