East Dover Early Childhood Center

East Dover Early Childhood Center East Dover Elementary is located in the state's capital. We serve 350 students. Our grade levels include kindergarten through fourth grade.

We strive to create an environment that enhances the educational, social, and emotional development of our children. We also have additional special needs programs located on our campus from throughout the district that address the needs of specifically identified students. Our population is culturally diverse; students come from a variety of socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. A continuum of services is available for our students. The Accelerated Curriculum and Technology (ACT) program is designed for gifted and talented students served within our school setting. Our curriculum is designed with an emphasis on developing critical thinking and problem solving skills. Both written and verbal communication is stressed on a daily basis. Art, music, library, and physical education are components of the curriculum that promote a broader understanding of the world. With access to classroom computers and a computer lab, each child has the opportunity to become computer literate. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment where all students succeed.

🫧✏️ Learning to write is even more fun when you can get a little messy!

Our Pre-K 4 Little Senators in Mrs. Oliver and Mrs. Bahel’s class were hard at work practicing the first letter of their names—with shaving cream! 👐✨

As our Little Senators traced and formed their letters, they were building letter recognition, fine motor strength, early writing skills, and proper letter formation while engaging in meaningful sensory play.

These hands-on experiences help our youngest learners make important connections between their names, letters, and writing—all while learning through exploration and play!
