This week we are Celebrating the Week of the Young Child! We like to beat to our own drum and make up our own days because if it’s for the children we might as well make it about OUR children! Each class picked a theme for a day depending on what their class LOVES! Today was our infants day and well they do really love their food, so we had our own ‘Tasty Wednesday’- each class was assigned a color to bring in! At our Staff Meeting this month we learned about the effects screens have on young children’s body & mind! One of the things we discussed during our PD of screens, was ‘Mindful Eating’ which went perfectly with today!

One of things we learned about during our Screen Free Professional Development with Dee Dee was Mindfulness: “An antidote to too much screen time. Helping kids (and adults) pay attention on purpose. Mindfulness isn’t just meditation or deep breathing- it’s the practice of noticing when our attention wanders and gently bringing it back to where we want it to be. The simple of of “returning” is how we strengthen our focus”

1 of the 5 Mindful Practices are: Mindful eating! Today was a perfect way to practice “Mindful Eating”: “transform meals into a richer experience by pausing to breathe before eating, tuning into your hunger cues, and savoring each bite. This practice helps you enjoy your food more fully and respond to your body’s true needs”- We talked about using our 5 senses with young children to practice this Mindful Eating. What do you taste? What do you see? What do you hear? What do you smell? What do you feel?

Preschool 2 did this when trying out their yellow foods! By practice of Mindful Eating, the children in their classroom were able to explore the different foods many hadn’t tried before. They found they LOVED everything they tried today! Plantain chips, banana chips, yellow peppers, lemon water, bananas & golden Oreo’s. They talked about each food with using their senses, an experience well learned from!

The different food choices for all the classrooms and the diversity between them all was really well done! Allowing the children to really expanded their pallet and using their different senses!

Join us in participating in Screen Free Week in May! More to come on that!

HAPPY CEREBRAL PALSY AWARENESS DAY TO THIS GUY!!! 💚💚💚

Ahhh where to start? Started at just 1.5 years old not walking and minimal words- to walking/“running” with such confidence and ease. He is smart beyond his years and uses such big words in the most perfect way! He is persistent, hard headed, has the best laugh and loves fart noises 🤣 we are proud of his strength and his determination- he keeps up and he tries his hardest everyday. Can’t wait to see another year of growth underneath your belt!

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate these 2 boys this week. All of the children work hard everyday at school, but these 2 work even harder and sometimes it goes unrecognized through the hustle and bustle of life. It was nice to take a day to give them the proper attention for their persistence and work to keep up with their peers. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to learn from them, and grow from their needs. Every child deserves an equal opportunity to learn and experience from, we are happy to be their “second home”. ♥️ until next year!

Today we celebrated THIS GUY! 💙💛💙💛💙💛

He has come so far in his short years here. We’ve been lucky enough to know, love and learn from him since he was a wee little babe. He has grown exponentially since he has started and we couldn’t be more proud. He has the BEST laugh and the biggest warm hugs! To know him is to love him and he loves EVERYONE who loves him. Here’s to another year celebrating this bright and happy soul! He has the best support team, and we are lucky to be apart of it and work along side with everyone. He’s got the a good and loving team standing behind him every day!

We will take any opportunity to celebrate our tiny humans, but he certainly works very hard each and every day!

We love him & we are so lucky to have him💛

Love a Wednesday night like this! We had a beautiful and fun turn out for our Open House tonight for our currently enrolled families! We really wanted tonight to be about the children and their ‘Second Home’. Tonight was a group effort of the children and the teachers: the children worked hard to make cupcakes and teacher prepared activities, reset their rooms, and showed up for the children after a long day of work! Such a beautiful thing to see families come together for their littles and see so many families interact with one another. I always feel like they’re so many friendships that come out of Miss Patty’s for children and parents. Truly such a special place! ♥️ here’s to year 30🥹 it’s off to a beautiful and wonderful start!

Sometimes things don’t always go as planned… bad weather, crazy mornings, rushing to get set up before our visitors arrive, etc. But then you sit back and watch how excited the children get to share their space with their loved ones. They are proud of their school, their art work, the toys they get to play with, how they decorated and prepared for the special day, etc. Because at the end of the day that’s what they remember, not about the small details and how imperfect some things were!

We love that we get to continue the yearly tradition of Grandparent’s Tea and we look forward to it next year too! Lucky to have the best grandparents who didn’t care about the rain, or the lack of details, and even helped setting up. They simply enjoyed their morning with their little loves and chatting it up with the other grandparents♥️

Here’s to Grandparents Tea 2025! 🫖

We are so excited for this year ahead, we have the best staff on board and they are so eager for the new year with their group of kiddos. Celebrating International Mud Day just a month late! 🤎
(Scroll & enjoy our stories to see the mud day in it’s entirety)

Sorry to be MIA on our social media for a while, we’ve had a crazy end to our school year! Including adding my own little babe to the Miss Patty’s family at the end of June. (Who I might add is very loved by the children and staff, I am so lucky to have these little and big humans in our lives.) Ended our mud day celebration in the most colorful way: new tie dye “work shirts”, our playground was bright and colorful! Just as I wanted it to be, I wanted them to scream summer and sunshine☀️ this summer has been a wonderful one so far, the ladies have many planned themed days and only more to come! I love being able to pop in and hang out with these wonderful people, love them all 💛☀️🧡☀️💛☀️🧡
