Tuscarawas River Canoe & Kayak Race This is a flat-water canoe and kayak race on the Tuscarawas River in downtown Dover, Ohio. For this There are classes for men, women and mixed teams.

The Tuscarawas River Canoe & Kayak Race is back in downtown Dover Saturday, July 15, 2023! This race is open to anyone who can paddle a boat and wants to have fun on the river. Paddlers will start at the boat launch ramp on Canal Street, just upstream from the Wooster Avenue bridge. They will paddle upstream, around a buoy and back downstream to the finish line. Racers can choose from a 3-mile loo

p or a 10-mile double-loop course. All types of canoes and kayaks are welcome. Races start at 10 a.m., with a mandatory racer’s meeting at 9:30. On-site registration opens @ 8 a.m. Cost is $25.00 per entrant, $15 age 17 and under which includes a t-shirt to the first 75 racers. Awards to the top 3 finishers in each class. This race is sanctioned by the United States Canoe Association and is part of the Ohio Division racing schedule. Racers must have a boat that is currently registered with the Ohio Division of Watercraft, a personal floatation device and a whistle. Spectators can view the race at the start/finish line. Here is the USGS guage for The Mighty Tusc this afternoon. The rain has not impacted the river at all today. Water level is 2 feet. The race is on! See you tomorrow.

The 12th Tuscarawas River Canoe & Kayak Race is Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Join us at the riverfront in Dover for a 3-mile or a 10-mile loop race, paddling up and down stream.
Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. Mandatory racers' meeting at 9:30 and the 10-mile course mass start is at 10:00, with the 3-mile course taking off about 10 minutes after that.
Come for the fun and comradery!
$25.00 fee for adults; $15.00 for racers aged 17 and under
T-shirts to all racers. Medals to the top three finishers in all boat categories. A barbeque lunch will be served at the finish.
Recreational boats and racing boats are all welcome.

$50 gas card to the racer driving the farthest.
