Last Friday we had Mrs. Elaine Ford come by and have a music class with our pre k! The kids enjoyed it and we are excited for Mrs. Elaine to come back and see us around the holidays!

Car seat safety! We 🩷 our littles and always want them to be safe!

It might be tempting to move your child into a forward-facing car seat early, but experts say keeping your child in a rear-facing seat for as long as possible, up to the limits of the car seat, is the best way to keep your child safe and prevent a traumatic injury in the event of a crash.

We are grateful for all of our summer visitors but want to give a quick shout out to Mrs. Mary Donahue with Stewart County 4-H and UT Extension for the last two summers she has picked a group to visit weekly for the summer. This year she worked with the toddler 2’s and the 2/3’s room. Our theme was camping and she took our theme and ran with it! One week the kiddos learned about nature and birds. They set up their own bird feeders to watch the birds out in the playground. Another week they learned about worms by watching a video and then having some hands on experience by touching the wiggly things. The teachers incorporated “dirt pudding” with the lesson and the kids made their own snack. They also got to decorate their own rocks and the teachers then did a nature walk with them. Thank you Mimi(cause that’s how we know Mrs. Mary) for visiting and teaching us so much. We look forward to your summer visits and can’t wait for next summers activities!

The Homestead CDC has been grateful that CCR&R in the past has donated a Book Cart full of new books for all of our ages. These books are appropriate for all of our age groups and we encourage our families to check out books to take home for their children to read or be read to. Our infant teacher/office admin Mrs. Tiffany helped us out but creating a QR code system allowing our parents to scan and check out books for their children to take home and read. If that wasn’t enough we decided to add more to it.
We now have the “Books and Bunnies Corner” we want to encourage our school agers to come by and read to the bunnies. Our school age teachers have been informed that if one of our friends had a long day at school or had an amazing day to give me a call and we can arrange for our friends to stop by and read. Thursday we had a parent who asked if their kiddo could visit the office to help make a quick pick up for the parent. Our sweet Everleigh is pictured below with the permission to post by her mama, Olivia. Everleigh is our first school ager to sit and read to our bunnies 🐰
We are excited to have both the books and the bunnies as a nice peaceful cozy area to just relax.
Again we want to thank CCRR for the books and Earhart Place Farm for helping us to be able to have these sweet bunnies at The Homestead. 💜
