As a Two-Brain Business mentor, I work with gym owners every week who are figuring out how to lead their teams. At the firehouse, I do the same thing as a Captain, with a crew that counts on me when it matters most. And every day I’m leading my own gym as the owner. That means building a team of coaches, setting the culture, and making the calls nobody else wants to make.
Three very different worlds, but the leadership problems are almost identical.
It’s become one of my specialties, and over the years I’ve noticed a pattern. Most people want the title. Fewer want the work that comes with it.
The hard conversation you keep putting off. Holding the standard when nobody’s looking. Owning the mistake and handing off the win. Leading yourself before you ask anyone else to follow.
And the one most leaders skip: taking care of themselves. You can’t serve your people if you’re running on empty.
Swipe through. If one of these hits a little close, that’s the one to work on.
Send this to a leader who needs it. 👊
