SCCJ Student spotlight: Mardochee Saintfort is a graduate student in the Justice Studies program (Class of 25). Her concentration is in Justice and Equity, and she is dedicated to making society a better place by promoting diversity and raising awareness about taboo topics.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Mardochee immigrated to Delaware with her family at the age of four, and she is fluent in both Haitian Creole and English.
In her free time, Mardochee enjoys writing stories and song lyrics, as well as binge-watching true crime videos and quality TV series. During her undergraduate years at DSU (SCCJ), she served as the recording secretary on the board of Pathways to Success College.
Currently, Mardochee is starting a new career as a case manager at George W. Hill Correctional Facility in Delaware County, PA. In this role, she will assist prisoners in navigating the justice system and support them in their treatment and rehabilitation journeys. Mardochee aims to leverage the knowledge and insights she has gained throughout her educational career to make a meaningful difference.
To fellow students, she advises that hard work will ultimately pay off. It is essential to take breaks, celebrate accomplishments, and keep an eye on the bigger picture.
