We marry you today! Are you ready? What does anointing mean for you & your special ceremony? Purpose. Anointing served & serves 3 distinct purposes: it is regarded as a means of health & comfort, as a token of honor, & as a symbol of consecration.

The first Monday back at work as an entrepreneur from officiating my very first weekend wedding ceremony felt so right, like this was exactly what I was supposed to be doing. I knew that it was important for me to go ahead and start branding myself as the anointed officiant online since I had a large wedding of 200 already under my belt. So I pulled up my Canva app and began right away designing my logo design for my new business as a wedding officiant.

I was so excited, I quickly created the design and I put the letters and the fonts exactly the way they were supposed to be. I even decided on a color that I could use as part of my brand colors. It was fun. I completed the logo design I absolutely loved, download it to my phone, and began putting my logo on the pictures I knew will go up on my website.

I came up with the greatest and best photos from my photo stock. I chose images that would speak to each couples heart. I chose pictures that were elegant and simple and sentimental. When was that It was all said and done I had 7 different pictures with my new branded logo on them.

It was all coming together and I was actually starting to look and feel like a real business open for business. I was satisfied with the way things look Sunday night.

I woke up Monday morning to finish or to continue what I started Sunday night, and noticed that I spelled officiant wrong on my logo. I misspelled it “Anointed Officant”… LOL… So I paused for about 10 minutes just thinking about what I had to go back and fix.

I had to go back and first of all fix my logo, and then I had to go back and fix all of the pictures I had up on my website including my profile picture which was my logo picture. I also had to go back to Gmail and fix my logo there. Thank God Gmail is connected to YouTube so I only had to make one change there. And then Facebook, I had to go back to Facebook and fix my logo which I had as my profile picture there.

I was so glad that I didn’t go crazy the first day and put my logo up everywhere, because I would’ve been trying to go back and take it down everywhere I posted it today.

But I’m glad at this phase of entrepreneurship I am a true professional after 9 years and I feel like I’m working smarter instead of harder with less time and I still get it all done. So going back and fixing my mistakes wasn’t as long or as hard as I thought it would be.

It was easier and quicker for me to actually fix it the second time then it was for me to create the logo the first time. I fixed my mistakes and corrected them every place I shared my logo on day one. Okay so with my ground work behind me I began the next step of my branding and marketing digitally online to the perfect clients.

So today after I fixed my mistakes from yesterday, I was able to move forward and actually create my new business cards. That was a lot of fun.

I realized that I actually needed my business cards when I went out locally to talk to local people because it’s easier to share my business and my passion about what I do. It’s easy handing someone a business card who is interested in what you offer. It’s like giving someone a gift. They receive your business card from you and they put it in a safe place until they need it again.

So the lesson I am reminded of in this growing stage of my new business is, “done is better than perfect”. I am glad I can laugh at myself at this stage of my career as an entrepreneur. We all make mistakes.

Done is Better than perfect. Remember that… done is better than perfect. Get it done and get it out to your audience! Edit your work the best you can, then get it out. Don’t spend too much time being perfect. Get it done and keep it moving. You can fix your mistakes later.
