Dear Dugan Elementary PTA General Body,
The Executive Board of the PTA/PTSA of Dugan Elementary is proposing an amendment to the organization's bylaws. In accordance with bylaws procedures, this notice is being provided at least 30 days prior to the vote.
Please review the proposed amendments below. An official vote will take place during our Special General Body Meeting.

Below are the proposed amendments. Each proposal includes the article, section, line number, original wording, proposed change, and rationale.
Proposed Amendment
ARTICLE V, Section 7, Line 135
Original Wording:
“Each member of this local PTA/PTSA shall pay annual dues of $6.00 to said association. The amount of such annual dues shall include the portion payable to the Georgia PTA and the portion payable to the National PTA.
Change:
Strike $6 and insert $10.00
Rationale:
The increase is necessary to cover rising mandatory fees from both Georgia PTA and National PTA. As of July 1, 2025, the combined dues owed to these organizations total $5.10. The current $6 dues are no longer sufficient to meet those obligations. Raising our dues will ensure our unit remains in good standing while continuing to support programs and initiatives that benefit our school community.
Proposed Amendment
Article XIII, Section 6, Line 390
Original Wording:
25 members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business in any meeting of this local PTA/PTSA.
Change:
Strike 25, and insert 15
Rationale:
15 is a more reasonable number for a smaller PTA to quorum a transaction of business.
