At Beulah Elementary, greatness truly grows here, and this year’s Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Terry.

Training and developing lifelong learners has been a passion of Mrs. Terry’s since third grade, when her teacher, Mrs. Reed, entrusted her with helping a struggling classmate learn to read. Watching his excitement and confidence grow sparked the calling that would shape her future as an educator.

Mrs. Terry earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Lee University and her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her excellence in education, including being named a Semi-Finalist for Atlanta Public Schools Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year at Perkerson Elementary School during the 2018–2019 school year.

Since joining the Beulah Elementary family, Mrs. Terry has had the privilege of teaching reading to our amazing 5th grade scholars. She works daily to create a classroom environment built on consistency, structure, accountability, and love. She believes students learn best when they feel safe, supported, challenged, and deeply valued. One of her greatest joys is watching students grow in confidence, character, and their love for learning.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Terry enjoys spending time with her husband of 36 years, her children, grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends. She also enjoys listening to music, eating chocolate, and taking walks with her rescue dog, Walter.

Congratulations, Mrs. Terry, on this well-deserved honor! Your dedication, compassion, and commitment to students make a lasting impact on the BEES Hive each and every day. 🐝
