On Friday, November 17th, Suzanne and Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School had the privilege of welcoming His Holiness, Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia to our church. We felt humbled and honored to be able to sing "Մաղթերգ Հայրապետական" with His Holiness and our entire church community.

The Suzanne and Hovsep Hagopian Saturday school celebrated their annual Christmas Hantes a bit differently this year, but the joy and Christmas cheer the students gifted us through their singing and reciting remained the same. We are very excited to share this with you all and hope that it can bring you joy and happiness as we celebrate Armenian Christmas this week!

It is with extreme pleasure and gratitude that we, Nayiry Injoyan and Aleene Voskerijian, accept the positions of co-principals of St. Sarkis Suzanne & Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School. We’d also like to congratulate Dg. Nairy Zohrabian for her extremely dedicated nearly 20 years of service to St. Sarkis Suzanne & Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School. Her work has not gone unnoticed, and we applaud her for the love and devotion she has shown the students, staff, parents, and entire community during her time as principal. We hope to continue to uphold the legacy that she has left behind.

As we embark on this new chapter at our Saturday School, it is our primary goal to create an environment where the connection between teachers, students, and parents facilitates meaningful learning experiences for our youth. We believe that leading with connection and building relationships with our youth will create a strong foundation for life-long learning and engagement between our youth and their Armenian community here at St. Sarkis Church. It has become increasingly important for our youth to place value in learning the Armenian language, history, music, and religion, and we hope to help actualize that.

With this exciting transition ahead there will be some positive changes and improvements made to our school for the betterment of our students’ experience. In doing so, there will be a tuition adjustment made. As we begin the process for registration, it is important to note that there will be a registration fee of $150.00 that will be applied to your child’s tuition. And as we’d like to have a clear understanding of enrollment there will be a deadline on June 30th for all registrations to be submitted by. In addition, a late fee of $200.00, which will not be applied to tuition, will be in effect if registration is submitted after June 30th. To make this transition as smooth as possible we kindly ask that you are diligent in registering your children.

We are happy to announce that our first day of the 2021-2022 school year will begin on Saturday, September 18th, 2021. With the current CDC guidelines for COVID-19, we are confident that we can begin the year with in-person learning while maintaining the appropriate restrictions to ensure the safety of our community. While there is a transition on the horizon for our students, teachers, and parents we’d like to end this message by saying that as co-principals our goal is to maintain open and clear communication and to create an environment for our children to thrive as young Armenian learners. We look forward to beginning this journey together.
