WRCCA Students in Mr. Nwawel's classroom have brought geometry to life through their Parallel Lines, Transversals, and Angles City Map Project! They designed creative city maps and presented how parallel lines, transversals, and different angle relationships can be found and used in real-world settings. This hands-on project allowed students to connect classroom concepts to everyday life while demonstrating their creativity, problem-solving skills, and understanding of geometry.

Parents, we need your help! All parents of returning students in Coffee County Schools must complete the Census Verification 26-27 forms in Parent Portal. Completing these forms will ensure that all of your information is current in our system, and is required before students can access school nursing services.

To complete the Census Verification process:

• Login to Parent Portal at: https://icampus.coffee.k12.ga.us/campus/portal/coffee.jsp
• Access the "More" option at the bottom of the navigation menu
• Select "Online Registration Update"
• Complete Census Verification 26-27

*If any address changes occur during the year, parents should submit the "2026-2027 Address Changes" application

Mrs. O’Connor’s Art Room is going out with a bang!

Students were given the challenge of creating a life-sized papier-mâché sculpture. Little did they know, their masterpiece would soon become the main character of their very own children’s book.

After two weeks of building, shaping, painting, and problem-solving, something incredible began to take form. Working together—linking arms, sharing ideas, and overcoming challenges—students watched in amazement as their creation came to life.

From engineering and modeling to sculpting and painting, they faced obstacles, thought critically, and created solutions for success. And standing tall above it all was Garry the Giraffe—decking the halls, quite literally!

That’s when Garry truly came to life.

What started as an art project transformed into something even bigger. Because art is more than just painting or drawing—creative writing is art, too. And so, the next chapter began.

Garry’s Sweet Dream was born—a story that inspires children everywhere to dream big, take action, and serve with heart.

Garry’s Sweet Dream teaches students that dreams don’t come true by chance—they come true through belief, planning, and perseverance. Garry didn’t simply wish for success; he worked for it. Through saving, patience, and determination, he turned his idea into reality.

Along the way, Garry models the importance of kindness, creativity, and service to others. His journey shows that true success isn’t measured by what you gain, but by the joy you bring to others.

This story reinforces essential life values:

Hard Work: Putting in effort to reach a goal
Patience: Waiting and working toward something meaningful
Kindness: Treating others with care and respect
Creativity: Using imagination to build something unique
Sharing Joy: Making a positive impact on others

Through engaging questions and thoughtful reflection, students are encouraged not only to understand Garry’s journey, but to apply these values to their own lives—dreaming big, taking action, and leading with heart.

Commencement for the Coffee High School, Douglas, GA and Wiregrass Regional College & Career Academy Class of 2026 will be held on Saturday, May 23 at 8:30 a.m. at Dan A. Jardine Stadium. The stadium will be opened for seating at 7:00 a.m. The graduates’ procession will begin at approximately 8:15 a.m. At this time, the South HOME gate will be locked and remain locked throughout the ceremony. The commencement ceremony will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.

• Tickets are not required for stadium entrance.
• Handicap seating requires a PINK handicap ticket. Students may request in advance. Seating is available on the HOME side of the stadium.
• In the event of inclement weather and the ceremony has to be moved to the CHS gym, students will be issued four (4) weather tickets for gym admission. Announcements will be sent via ParentSquare and social media outlets.
• A CLEAR BAG policy will be in place for admittance to the stadium.
• Enhanced security measures will be in place at all gates.
• Please remain seated throughout the entire ceremony.
• Please silence cell phones during the ceremony.
• All gates, including the gates to the field, will be opened after the ceremony.
