Thomas Cowan, 88, of Lincoln passed away on March 22, 2023. Tom was born and raised in Lincoln, graduated from St. Marys Cathedral High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Tom served in the Nebraska Air National Guard, US Navy Reserve,

Due to some personal things, covid requirments and being only one person to set all this up. I am sad to announce we will be postponing the banquet again this year.

If possible we would like to get an idea of who out there is still interested in keeping this going. I am willing to do what I can but need a better idea of what I am working with.

The postcards went out last month to inform our mail list that we will NOT be having the banquet this year. We are hoping that next year we will be in a better spot with Covid to have it.

I have been talking to many and have decided that it would be good to postpone the alumni banquet till 2021. With what we are all going through right now we want everyone to be safe and be able to spend time with their families when the time comes. We will be sending out a postcard for anyone not connected to us through here. Please pass the word along and STAY SAFE during this time!

With a sad heart we would like to share that we received a message from Mrs. Neils daughter.

Will you let the alumni know that Mom passed away peacefully this afternoon at the hospital. She was oh so tired of fighting. She was very, very proud (in a good way) of the standing ovation she received at the banquet. She was a force to be reckoned with and I will miss her dearly.

At this time there are no funeral plans but a possible memorial in August. We will let you know what we know as we can.

This year had an amazing turn out for the dinner. We had a final official count of 117 people who came! We also revealed the new home of the memorabilia. A big THANKS to the village and everyone else who helped make last night happen.
