๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿป Tomorrow is the LAST day of school at DPS! ๐Ÿป๐ŸŽ‰

We have had an incredible year together, and we are excited to celebrate one final day with our amazing Bearpaws! As a reminder, students still need to bring their backpack and their student tag tomorrow to help make dismissal run smoothly and safely.

And parentsโ€ฆ after tomorrow afternoonโ€ฆ itโ€™s officially YOUR turn! ๐Ÿ˜„โ˜€๏ธ
Teachers are tagging out, the backpacks are coming home, and summer vacation is ready to begin!

Thank you for an amazing school year filled with growth, memories, and support. We hope all of our DPS families have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ“šโค๏ธ A Wyoming tradition rooted in literacy, community, and a love for reading! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

Today, we are excited to share photos of our DPS Bearpaws participating in the incredible Wyoming Reads celebration โ€” a program with a powerful history and impact across our state.

The Sue Jorgensen Library Foundation was created in 1996 to advance childhood literacy throughout Wyoming. Inspired by Sue Jorgensenโ€™s belief that โ€œuntil someone can read, they canโ€™t really do anything else,โ€ the foundation launched a mission to put books directly into children's hands.

What started in Natrona County as Casper Cares became the statewide Wyoming Reads program in 2006. Since then, every Wyoming county has participated in this special celebration of literacy, helping first graders select and receive their very own hardcover book each year.

One of the most meaningful parts of Wyoming Reads is that it benefits every child โ€” from strong readers to emerging readers, and from students with home libraries to those receiving a book of their very own for the first time.

Since the program began, approximately 133,000 hardcover books have been placed into the hands of Wyoming first graders. ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿพ

At DPS, we are proud to continue this amazing Wyoming tradition and celebrate the joy, opportunity, and lifelong impact that reading creates for our students.
