As we get ready to start a new school year, there are a few important things to know before the first day:

1. All students will report to GWCFC on Tuesday morning, August 4. Students with a 1st block class at Coffee High School will NOT go to CHS on Tuesday.
2. Starting Wednesday, August 5, students with 1st block at CHS will take the bus or get dropped off at Coffee High School and be brought by bus to GWCFC after 1st block.
3. School starts at 8:05 and ends at 3:00. The earliest time a student can be dropped off is 7:30.
4. All morning drop-offs are at the front of the school. In the afternoon, pickups are at the back of the school and buses are in the front.
5. Students who ride a bus in the afternoon will get on the bus here and ride to CHS. At CHS, they will get on the correct bus to go home.
6. Students who go to CHS for 4th block (except football players) will get on a bus at the front of the school after 3rd block to go to CHS. Football players will get on the bus at the back of the school.
7. GWCFC is a no cell phone zone. This also includes earbuds/headphones and smartwatches. Students will be assigned Yondr pouches in class and will be expected to follow school cell phone procedures.

If you would like to purchase a calculator for your child, we will be selling them in the gym at Open House for $18. This includes your child's name engraved on the calculator for free. This is the same calculator students use throughout high school, so make sure to stop by and see us!

We can’t wait to see all of our new students and their families at Open House next Thursday, July 30, from 3:00-6:00!

Come to the gym to get your schedule, explore our CTAE and elective classes, and find out what extracurriculars you want to get involved in. We will also be available to help you with Infinite Campus and back to school paperwork before you go check out the campus and visit teachers!

Before you go, don’t forget to purchase your Class of 2030 merch in the gym this year. We would love for you to rep “The Freshman Experience of GWC” and help support this year’s class!

Parents, please remember to complete your students' back to school paperwork for the 2026-2027 school year. We appreciate you taking the time to help us make sure information is current so that we can best take care of our students!

Just a reminder to take care of this important information update if you haven't already done so...

Parents, we need your help! All parents of returning students in Coffee County Schools must complete the Census Verification 26-27 forms in Parent Portal. Completing these forms will ensure that all of your information is current in our system, and is required before students can access school nursing services.

To complete the Census Verification process:
• Login to Parent Portal at: https://icampus.coffee.k12.ga.us/campus/portal/coffee.jsp
• Access the "More" option at the bottom of the navigation menu
• Select "Online Registration Update"
• Complete Census Verification 26-27

*If any address changes occur during the year, parents should submit the "2026-2027 Address Changes" application

It is our great pleasure to announce that GWCFC will be giving out school supplies to our new 9th grade students again this year!

Students attending GWCFC will receive one 2" three-ring binder, one composition notebook, one pack of notebook paper, one pack of dividers (8 tabs), and #2 pencils. If you wish to purchase additional items for your child than those listed, please feel free to do so.

As we prepare to get the 2026-2027 school year started, we would like to remind everyone of our scheduled school breaks and holidays. As you plan for family trips and schedule appointments, please keep our school schedule in mind and help us to minimize absences. We believe that attendance is important for student success, and we encourage families to schedule non-emergency trips and appointments during school breaks whenever possible.

As their culminating project, Ms. Waldroup's Art 1 class was tasked with designing and constructing hats that incorporated the elements of art they've been studying this semester. This year's theme celebrated television, movies, and video games. Students put on a "hat fashion show" in the GWCFC courtyard to showcase the innovative and creative designs they came up with, and a great time was had by all! We love to see our students get hands on learning and have fun at the same time!

Our Freshman Seminar classes had a little fun learning about college life while creating their shoebox dorm rooms! Some of our staff members voted on the best projects, and the winners each won a gift card. Congratulations to Griselda Perez Lopez, Jayda Mendez, and Olivia Logue for their outstanding creations!
