Douglas Summer School Food Program Offers Free Meals for Children

Converse County School District, Nutrition Services Department will bring back the Summer School Food Program. This program is designed to support families with children between the ages of 2 -18, from June 1 to July 31, 2026
Every Thursday, families can pick up meal kits containing five days’ worth of nutritious food items at no cost. This initiative aims to ease the burden on families by providing convenient, healthy meals for children throughout the summer.

Program Details:

• Who: All children ages 2–18.
• When: Thursdays, June 4th– July 30, 2025, 12:30 pm-2:30pm
• What: Bulk meal kits for 5 days
• Cost: Free
• Where: Douglas Rec Center. 1703 Hamilton Street

The students at Moss Agate released the rainbow trout at Keith Rider today.

The upper students received the trout eggs in January and have been raising them, learning from them and taking care of them since.

They have learned a lot and have truly enjoyed having them in the classroom.

They released 149 rainbow trout!
They worked very hard on this project and were very excited to see the final count!!

Plus we got a treat before going back to school!!
