Juneteenth marks the day the last enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom on June 19, 1865. On this federal holiday, we pause to reflect on the significance of this moment in history and celebrate the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives that enrich the ACOM community. Happy Juneteenth!

Several ACOM students, alongside Dermatology Specialists' Jeffrey Stricker, DO, recently climbed aboard The Skin Cancer Foundation's Destination Healthy Skin bus to provide free full-body skin cancer screenings for the public. This collaboration provided students interested in dermatology with a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience while helping expand access to preventive skin health services!

Today, we had the privilege of honoring the ACOM faculty, staff, and students who have served or who are currently serving in the military during our Military Appreciation Luncheon.
Their dedication to service extends far beyond the classroom and clinic, reflecting a deep commitment to leadership, sacrifice, and caring for others. We are grateful for the many members of the ACOM community whose military service continues to make a lasting impact on healthcare and beyond.
Thank you for your service and for the example you set each day!

In medicine, compassion starts with people...including ourselves.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re encouraging our students, faculty, staff, and community to prioritize wellbeing, support one another, and continue breaking the stigma surrounding mental health conversations. Every step toward awareness, understanding, and support matters.💚
