๐ Week 1 has been a BLAST in Engineering!
Our students jumped right into the action with their first Instant Challenge, and they absolutely exceeded expectations! ๐
With popsicle sticks, rubber bands, a whole lot of tape, and even MORE creativity, our POE students created egg-cellent grabbers for โFranโs Farm,โ while our IED students took their launchers to whole new heights! ๐ฅ๐
Behind all of that creativity and innovation is our incredible instructor, Mrs. Solomon! ๐ Welcome to HCCA!! She has already challenged our students to think outside the box, get creative, problem-solve, and have a little fun along the way!
Itโs already shaping up to be an incredible year, and we canโt wait to watch these students SOAR in CTE! ๐ฆ

When our schools, local employers, and communities partner together, great things are bound to happen! Not only are we able to work together to build a stronger local workforce, but students are also able to bridge the skills gap, developing the confidence and work habits necessary to transition from the classroom to meaningful, career-oriented employment.
Through our Co-Op program, currently lead by Mrs. Dana Bell, Houston County Schools students have worked over 126,000 hours and had an economic impact of nearly 15 million dollars this past school year alone. Thatโs almost an 8,000,000 dollar increase from just last year! We are so proud of our students, Mrs. Bellโs leadership, the awesome opportunities provided through co-op, and all of our amazing local employers who help make all of this possible!
