Matt Hartigan, Development and Philanthropy Officer
"My name is Matt Hartigan, and I am excited to serve as the Development and Philanthropy Officer at Providence Christian School. My beautiful wife, Elise, and I have been married for almost seven years. We have a four-year-old son, Sam, who will be joining the Providence family next school year as well. Elise and I are both graduates of Troy University and are excited to be relocating back to the Wiregrass area after being away since college.
I bring seven years of experience in fundraising and philanthropy, working with nonprofit organizations and charter schools to support their missions and expand their impact. Most recently, I served as the Community Engagement Manager at UCP of Central Florida in Orlando. In this role, I led community service initiatives, coordinated fundraising efforts, cultivated and maintained donor relationships, and represented the organization through various community speaking engagements. My work has focused on connecting individuals, families, and organizations to opportunities that support inclusive education and meaningful community involvement.
I am passionate about bringing people together around a shared purpose and building strong relationships rooted in service. I believe these values are essential to meaningful work both within schools and in the broader community, and I look forward to using them to support the mission of Providence Christian School by fostering partnerships and creating opportunities for others to invest in the life and growth of the school.
I believe that God is sovereign over all things and that His Word is the ultimate authority for truth and life. I am passionate about serving in a Christ-centered environment where students are encouraged to grow in both faith and character, understanding that we are created to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. My desire is to use my gifts to faithfully steward relationships and resources in a way that honors the Lord and supports the mission of Providence Christian School. I am thankful to be joining a community where the Gospel is at the center and look forward to investing in the lives of students and families at PCS."

Elise Hartigan - Student Learning Services Teacher
"My name is Elise Hartigan, and I am excited and grateful to join Providence Christian School as the new Student Learning Services Teacher and After School Homework Help Coordinator!
Over the past several years, I have supported students with learning differences through my work at UCP of Central Florida, most recently serving as the UCP District Curriculum and Instruction Autism Specialist. In this role, I supported ESE self-contained classrooms and partnered with teachers and staff to implement evidence-based strategies that helped students succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially. I am passionate about helping every student feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their greatest potential.
I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from Troy University and recently completed a second Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. My experiences in education and student support have strengthened my heart for serving students and families through Christ-centered education.
My husband, Matt, our son Sam, and I are excited to join the Providence family and relocate to Dothan this summer. We are thankful for how God has guided our family in this new season, and I am truly looking forward to partnering with families, supporting students, and becoming part of the Providence community!"

Hannah Hendrix, 4th Grade Teacher
"Our family has been a part of the Providence community since 2020, and the school has been a tremendous blessing to us over the past six years. My husband and I have been married for 20 years, and we have five children, including one Providence graduate and three who are currently enrolled.
My love for teaching began years ago while homeschooling our children. In 2015, our family discovered Classical Conversations, which led me to spend several years working for Classical Conversations and teaching and training other home educators in the classical model. I have spent the last two years teaching Middle/High School History and providing Reading and Math remediation at a local public school. I hold a B.S. in Social Science and History from Troy University and carry a Florida teaching certification. Driven by a deep love for the Lord and learning, I am truly looking forward to stepping into the classroom at Providence this year. I am excited to bring my background to the 4th grade, guiding my students in the spirit of Philippians 4:8: "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
My hope in teaching is to help my students discover God's truth, goodness, and beauty woven into creation through a classical Christian education."

Mollie Haley, 4th Grade Teacher
"My name is Mollie Haley, and my husband, Adam, and I will celebrate 14 years of marriage this August. We are blessed with three children. Our daughter will be entering 5th grade at Providence this fall.
Our family attends Calvary Baptist Church, where our faith continues to be an important part of our lives. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Education from Troy University and have more than 15 years of teaching experience. I truly enjoy working with children and helping them learn and grow.
I am especially excited about becoming part of a school community that values faith, education, and strong relationships. I look forward to building connections with students, parents, and fellow staff members while helping create a positive and encouraging environment for everyone. I am grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to be a part of all the wonderful things happening at Providence Christian School."

Emily Champion, 2nd Grade Teacher
"My name is Emily Champion and I have been involved in education for over 15 years. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I believe that every child has a unique way of learning, and I love creating hands-on lessons to help them reach their full potential.
My husband, Dustin, and I moved to Dothan six years ago to start his insurance business. God has blessed us with four beautiful children. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing the piano, gardening, interior decorating, and spending time with family.
I am thrilled to be joining the PCS community this year as a second grade teacher!"

Working with Your Hands Camp was a special time. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. McClurkin loved seeing the children working alongside one another! It was a week full of curiosity! We enjoyed projects that challenged and strengthened our hands, hearts and minds, great books, and nature walks. What a sweet time contemplating God's Word and His creation!

The PCS Class of 2026 has safely arrived in Anchorage, Alaska, where they will spend the week serving with GraceWorks Alaska Ministry.
We are grateful for this incredible opportunity for our seniors to grow in their faith while sharing Christ's love through service. Thank you to our PCS families and community who are joining us in prayer for safe travels, meaningful ministry opportunities, and a life-changing week for both our students and those they serve.

Kristen Wallace, Marketing and Communications Officer
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join Providence Christian School as Marketing and Communications Officer and to serve a community rooted in Christ-centered, classical education. With over 20 years of experience in corporate marketing and graphic design, I bring a passion for creative leadership, clear communication, and intentional design.
Throughout my career, I've led projects across print, digital, social, and event marketing, building strong experience in brand development and effective communication in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer environments. I'm a graduate of Auburn University, where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in marketing.
I love recharging at the beach, finding inspiration in art museums, and dancing in our kitchen. You might be surprised to learn that I studied Japanese for three years in high school and spent three weeks traveling in Japan one summer.
Our two children, who both attended PCS since preschool, make this community especially meaningful to our family. I'm honored to use my gifts to support the school's mission, celebrate its values, and help connect students, families, and the broader community. Soli Deo Gloria!"
