So excited about our partnership with Wallace Community College! ❤️📚
Some of our Dothan Tech Education & Training students are participating in dual enrollment Child Development courses, giving them the opportunity to earn college credit while preparing for careers in education. Students can take four college-level courses with Mrs. Snider and after completing their third course, they can be offered the opportunity to earn a Pre-K endorsement! 🎓👩🏫
What an incredible opportunity for our future educators! We’re excited to see where this partnership takes them! 💙❤️

Our first-year Foundations students are still doing amazing work with their presentations!
Today, O’Nessa taught us about equality in education. She asked three “students” with three different injuries to come to the front of the class—one had hurt their elbow, one their knee, and one their head. Although their injuries were different, she gave each student a Band-Aid for their elbow. This demonstrated that treating everyone exactly the same does not always meet each person’s individual needs. What a great lesson!
Alaceya taught a very interactive lesson in which students voted on whether different scenarios were fair or unfair. She then shared a song she created and had the entire class participate in a lesson about *Brown v. Board of Education*.
Video to follow in the next post!

Today our first year, Foundations in Education, students began their standards presentations! Kynsten shared a wealth of knowledge, and then concluded her presentation with a jeopardy game that she created from our standard and engaged the whole class! Adalynn really knew her material and she had two activities for the class. One was a “Does Title IX protect this?” activity and the other one was a pre-K activity that involved the whole class creating a portrait with their thumb prints. (They were teaching us about Plessy versus Ferguson, Brown versus Board of Education, No Child Left Behind, Title IX, the creation of the school calendar, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and First Class Pre-K.)

Yesterday was a highly rewarding day as our Future Teachers collaborated with SARCOA to celebrate Older Americans Day at the fairgrounds, where we assisted with loading and unloading buses, welcomed 2000 senior citizens, engaged in games, danced, and provided lunch.
