π¦π€πβ¨ Reaching for the Stars at STEM Camp! β¨π π¦π€
Our campers had an out-of-this-world day exploring the wonders of space! Students learned about constellations and how stars form patterns across the night sky. They also discovered the science behind rockets and flight before designing and testing their own paper airplanes.
The learning continued as campers expanded their knowledge of binary coding through hands-on coding games using paper cups. They quickly learned that every step, direction, and instruction matters when programming and problem-solving. It was a day filled with creativity, critical thinking, and exciting discoveries!
Our campers stepped into the role of young paleontologists as they explored different types of fossils. They learned how fossils are formed, discovered, and how each one helps tell the story of life on Earth long ago.
Campers then put their coding skills into action by programming robots to complete a variety of challenges. Through sequencing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving, they experienced firsthand how coding brings technology to life.
To wrap up the day, students got creative making their own slime creations, adding glitter, colorful beads, and other fun mix-ins to make each one unique. From science and technology to creativity and hands-on exploration, it was another fantastic day of learning and fun at STEM Camp! Wallace Community College Alabama Community College System

Summer Camp Days 1 & 2 for Our 1stβ3rd Graders!
Our young campers have been busy exploring, creating, and discovering through STEM activities!
Day 1 focused on gardening and coding. Students created their own grass heads to take home and watch grow over the coming weeks. They also learned about binary coding and used their new knowledge to design bracelets and necklaces that represented their names.
Day 2 was filled with robots, colors, and creativity! Students learned how to operate robots, experimented with primary colors to create brand-new shades, and designed their own colorful tie-dye bags to take home.
Watching curiosity turn into discovery is our favorite part of STEM! π±π€π¨β¨ Wallace Community College Alabama Community College System Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce
