This theme from Beethoven's 7th was one of my dad's favorites. I'd heard the wonderful Liszt paraphrase, but I hadn't realized Robert Schumann wrote this set of variations. Listen too for a few other Beethoven quotations throughout!

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Peter Shelley to our WCC Fine Arts Department as an adjunct piano instructor. Dr. Shelley began playing piano when he was five years old. He received a Bachelor’s degree in piano in 2003, and recently expanded and refined his skill at the instrument with a Master’s in Music in piano pedagogy and performance. Dr. Shelley earned a Ph.D. in music theory from the University of Washington. Over the years he has learned the value of patience, diligence, and practice, and reflects these values in his teaching.
