Students in Dr. Gilmer’s Practicum 1 class were very busy today teaching small group lessons throughout our partnership school!
We appreciate Midland City Elementary School and the amazing teachers who invest considerable time and effort, not only in their own students but ours as well.

Sometimes class meets at a Mexican restaurant! 🌮 Mrs. Tharp and her Practicum 2 students met for one of their check-in meetings and also enjoyed a tasty lunch!

Students in Mrs. Tharp’s Practicum 2 class were certified in both Mandatory Reporter and Erin’s Law training. We are thankful for Emily Woodall from the Child Advocacy Center for faithfully training our students each semester.

Elementary Education major, Penny Copes, taught a 5th grade math lesson on decimals. We are thankful for Kelly Springs Elementary School for providing these teaching opportunities!

Elementary Education major, McKenzie McDaniel, taught a 4th grade math lesson on multiplication. We are thankful for Kelly Springs Elementary School for providing these teaching opportunities!

Early Childhood Education major, Elizabeth Lewis, taught a 3-day learning segment about natural disasters to 3rd graders at Kelly Springs Elementary School. On the first day, students identified three different types of natural disasters (tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes). On the second day, students made emergency kits for their homes. On the third and final day, students made a safety plan for them and their families.

Elementary Education major, Bonnie Trawick, taught a 5th grade St. Patrick’s Day math lesson on volume. We are thankful for Kelly Springs Elementary School for providing these teaching opportunities!
