Highlands Elementary has created a new honor, “Heroes of Highlands,” to recognize and celebrate outstanding individuals who have dedicated their many talents to the success of Highlands Elementary School.

Each of the four recipients received an olive tree that represents gratitude, friendship, and peace; a certificate of recognition; and their names engraved on the Heroes of Highlands plaque displayed in the school’s center court display showcase.

This inaugural year’s four honorees and highlights are:

Mrs. Brittney Crain – an enthusiastic community-minded PTO leader for the past three years, she created and organized the school’s Turkey Trot 5K - the school’s most successful fundraiser ever! - and is an active supporter of all PTO events and all things Highlands.

Mr. Scott Hogan - has served many roles throughout the past five years: Polar Express conductor; worked all day and night for events; provided generous treats and meals for our teachers and staff; assisted with all school events; and sponsored the student soccer
club. He brought our community together and provided a
wonderful outlet for teamwork and physical activity.

Mr. Ray Kenyon - has solved equipment issues for the past five years that only a technical expert could resolve. His invaluable assistance in managing, repairing, and organizing our school’s
electronics equipment greatly enhanced our events.

Mrs. Ali Pfister - is the powerhouse for the past nine years who has made so much possible as our PTO President.
She went above and beyond, pouring
endless time and energy into our school. Thanks to her fearless leadership, Highlands Elementary consistently crushed our fundraising goals year after year. She turned our goals and dreams into reality, working tirelessly behind the scenes to make
sure every project was a massive success. Highlands will soon have a new playground thanks to our PTO.
