Today marks a very special milestone for Tri-State Counseling & Consulting! We were honored to celebrate our official ribbon cutting with the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce. ✂️

We’re incredibly grateful for the support from our community and everyone who has helped make this practice possible. What began as an idea has grown into a space where we’re proud to provide compassionate, accessible mental health care to women across Alabama.

Thank you to the Dothan Area Chamber and everyone who joined us to celebrate this new chapter. 🪽

Sometimes being “kinda chic” means giving yourself permission to be human. Which one resonates most?
🌟Save this. Share it with someone who needs permission to do these things.

To every educator, staff member, and parent starting school this week: You’ve got this. And if you don’t feel like you do, that’s normal too.

Here’s what might help: Ground yourself when stress hits (5-4-3-2-1: name what you see, touch, hear, smell, taste). Set a boundary early (you can’t do it all). Name your feelings instead of pushing them down; grief, anxiety, excitement all belong here. Take micro-breaks (3 minutes counts). And reach out, to a colleague, a friend, someone who gets it. You’re not carrying this alone.

Be as kind to yourself this week as you’d be to someone you care about. 🍎

Glimpses into therapy this week. These realizations, about discomfort and forward movement, about changing ourselves even when circumstances don’t, about creating safety in our bodies and presence in our lives, they’re the quiet revolutions that happen in session. Grateful for clients brave enough to examine their own patterns and write new chapters. 🪽

We’re so proud to highlight this article in the ALCA- Alabama Counseling Association Journal: “Ecological Perspectives on Grief: Cultural Adaptations and Clinical Implications in a Changing World.”

Because grief isn’t one-size-fits-all. Every person’s loss is unique, and their healing should be too. A truly effective approach to grief counseling honors cultural traditions alongside practical, evidence-based tools. 🪽
