Thank you Currier families for joining us for our Camp Read-a-Lot event. Our theme this year, inspired by the book No More Plastic in the Ocean, written by Lavinia Currier, brought a splash of Hawaiian island magic to our event. All participants were thoroughly captivated by Mr. Luzader's community camp-fire story about a frog who famously “sucked up the ocean".

Students later gathered around their campfires, where they crafted and shared their own imaginative stories. Students enjoyed adding a lot of fun and some silly (but entertaining) details to their story adventure. Our gymnasium was transformed to a magical underwater, ocean theme, with every detail of the event handcrafted by our very own staff and students.

Our recent All School Assembly brought a bit of Hawaii to Danby. Lavinia Currier, a member of the Currier Family, read us her book "No More Plastic in the Ocean!" via video from her home in Hawaii. Students also did taste tests of coconut, mango, pineapple, and spam then graphed their favorites. Spam and pineapple were the winners. Some of their expressions while trying new foods were priceless.
Our school is getting ready for our family Camp Read A Lot event next Tuesday where our under-the-sea theme will come alive!

The Currier students had a wonderful Friday morning at Taconic Music's performance of Peter + The Wolf. It was a great experience to hear an orchestra, learn a little about each instrument & notice those we have in our own band, and enjoy the narrated story of Peter and the Wolf.

Currier students had a great time at GNAT, the area's local public access television station, for JISP this year. They learned about video making, from script writing to filming, from sound effects to editing. Students also enjoyed making friends with students from other BRSU schools.
