🌿Announcing On-Farm Workshops at Abundant Blooms Flower Farm!🌿
This fall, for the first time, I’m opening up my flower farm for a series of small, in-person educational workshops all about growing woody shrubs for cut flowers!
One of the most helpful things I’ve done as a flower farmer is visit other flower farms.
I actually just traveled to Pennsylvania to tour another farm, and every time I have the opportunity to see how someone else grows, harvests, and runs their farm, I come home with new ideas.
There’s just something different about seeing mature plants growing in the field, being able to ask questions in real time, and seeing how another farmer actually does things.
And getting to spend a couple of hours with other flower farmers is pretty wonderful too. 😊
During this two-hour ticketed workshop, we’ll walk through Abundant Blooms Flower Farm and take an in-depth look at the woody cuts I grow and sell to florists, including smokebush, five varieties of ninebark, snowberry, viburnum, hydrangeas, and more.
We’ll talk about varieties, planting and spacing, growing, harvesting, and how I use and sell these crops in my flower farming business. I’ll demonstrate how I harvest them, and there will be plenty of time for questions and conversation along the way.
Four workshop dates are available:
🌿 August 28 | 6:00–8:00 PM
🌿 August 29 | 3:00–5:00 PM
🌿 September 11 | 5:45–7:45 PM
🌿 September 12 | 3:00–5:00 PM
Each workshop is intentionally limited to just 15 people*so we can keep it small, get up close to the plants, and have plenty of time for questions.
Tickets are already selling, and September 12 is filling especially quickly!
If you’d love the opportunity to visit another flower farm, learn more about incorporating woody shrubs into your cut flower operation, and connect with other flower farmers, I’d love to have you here!🌿
