Calling All BPS Families! 🌿

Do you have a favorite Callaloo (or Lalo) recipe that’s been passed down through generations, shared at family gatherings, or made just the way your family loves it?

We’re looking to learn from the incredible culinary traditions within our BPS community. By sharing your recipe, you can help us explore authentic flavors, celebrate cultural heritage, and inspire future menu ideas for BPS students.

Whether you call it callaloo, lalo, or green amaranth, we’d love to hear how it’s prepared in your home.

🥟Throwback to the most DUMPLING-icious day of the
year!

We celebrated Lunar New Year at on February 24th.

Students got to choose between chicken dumplings or veggie dumplings, served up with fried rice and green peas.

The first-ever BPS Eats Food Literacy Summit took place yesterday, bringing together educators, community partners, growers, and food leaders from across Boston Public Schools.

From school food and freight farms to conversations around food justice, the afternoon was filled with ideas, collaboration, and shared commitment to strengthening food literacy in our schools.
