October 2 is National Custodian Appreciation Day.

Today we celebrate the Mather’s own Custodian Team: Kathleen, Exai, & Dielana.

Thank you for keeping our school safe, healthy, and ready to learn. There is so much that we see you guys do day after day - and even more that we don’t see. From cleaning spills, shoveling snow before the students arrive, fixing everything - you are the ones who help the teachers’ day run smoothly.

Congratulations to our very own, Ms Marshall on being selected as a 2026 Shattuck Award winner!

We are so proud of you and honored to have you at the Mather!

There are not enough words to describe all the wonderful things Ms. Marshall does for the Mather, both inside and outside of the classroom.

Henry L. Shattuck was a proud Bostonian who, through actions, devoted his life to public service. Just like Mr. Shattuck, Ms. Marshall exemplifies “the integrity, initiative, leadership and commitment to the public good” that this award celebrates. Ms.Marshall embodies what it means to be a caring educator and community leader. The City of Boston is fortunate to have Ms. Marshall giving back to the city the way she does; The Mather School community is the lucky one who gets to experience this everyday.

Let’s come together to celebrate Ms. Marshall on this amazing accomplishment!

Do you remember the Scholastic Book Fair?! Of course you do - it was one of the best days of the school year. Now you can help recreate that same feeling for today’s Mather Students.

Help us put books into the hands of every child at the Mather!

By donating to the Mather School Scholastic Book Fair Fund, you are helping ensure that every student, regardless of financial circumstances, has the opportunity to choose and take home a book they are excited to read. (Maybe a pencil or kitten poster, too. ). A single book can spark imagination, build confidence, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
