From her first graduation at CACC to earning her doctorate from Boston College!

Dr. Ruth Evee first came to Crispus Attucks Children’s Center when she was three years old. She remembers kind teachers, friendships, and feeling that CACC was “MY school.”

Years later, Ruth returned to CACC as a member of our Board of Directors, giving back to the place that helped give her a strong start.

These photographs capture Ruth at her own CACC graduation, speaking at a recent CACC graduation, and celebrating her graduation from Boston College with a Doctor of Education degree.

As we celebrate CACC’s 55th anniversary, Ruth’s journey reminds us that early education is the beginning of something much larger—and that a child’s first school can remain part of their story for a lifetime.

This week at Crispus Attucks Children’s Center, we’ve been celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week with daily treats and today’s staff lunch in honor of our incredible educators and team members.

Our teachers create safe, joyful, and nurturing learning environments for children and families every day. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom, helping build the foundation for lifelong learning and growth.

We are deeply grateful for their commitment, compassion, and care — this week and every week.

Last week, our children celebrated the “Week of the Young Child.” It was inspiring to see their creativity, curiosity, and ambition shine throughout the week.
