This Wednesday, September 2, Donna ISD invites students and staff to wear GOLD or YELLOW as we stand together in support of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Across our district, a little gold can carry a powerful message of hope, strength, and support.

Week 4 of the first six weeks is here, and every school day matters. As we head into September and Attendance Awareness Month, we ask our parents to help us make daily attendance a priority. Being at school each day keeps students connected to learning and moving forward. Adame Fine Arts Academy celebrated some of its perfect attendance students last week for doing just that.

Together, schools and families can build strong attendance habits that help our students succeed.

We’re kicking off a great week as we look ahead to our first home football games of the season for the Donna High Redskins and Donna North Chiefs. Game nights bring together so much of Donna ISD, from our athletes to band, cheer, dance, choir, JROTC, and student organizations, all representing their schools and our community.

The countdown to game night is on. Let’s have a great week, Donna ISD!

A Legacy of Excellence Starts in the Classroom.

The story of Donna ISD is bigger than what happens under the Friday night lights. It is found in the classrooms, on the stages, in the labs, on the fields, and in every space where our students are learning, growing, and discovering what they are capable of achieving.

From academic accomplishments to championship moments, our students continue to show that excellence has no boundaries. Their hard work, determination, and commitment to reaching their goals are shaping the future of our schools and our community.

The tower stands as a reminder of where we have been, but our students are the ones who will determine where we go next.
Donna ISD: Legacy in Action.

Across Donna ISD, we are all working toward one goal: our students. Every classroom, campus, department, and program plays a part in our NUMBER ONE STUDENT OUTCOME: GRADUATING ALL STUDENTS ON TIME, COLLEGE, CAREER, AND MILITARY READY.

Veterans Middle School shares the goal that keeps us all moving in the same direction.

One district. One purpose. Every student.

As we close out National Speech Pathology Week, hear from Jessica Rocha, Speech Language Pathologist at A.M. Ochoa Primary Science & Sports Academy, as she shares how speech services support students in communication, language, and learning. It’s one of the many ways Donna ISD works to ensure every student has the support needed to reach our Number One Student Outcome: graduating college, career, and military ready. Thank you to Jessica and all of our speech professionals for the care and dedication they bring to our students every day.

Making Music and Making Memories!

Our Fine Arts students are already in full swing and putting in the work to make this school year one to remember!

From Todd Middle School band students practicing in the band hall to Veterans Middle School choir students finding their voices, our young musicians are building their skills, confidence, and teamwork with every practice.

The instruments are warming up, the voices are getting stronger, and the excitement is building.

We cannot wait to hear what our Fine Arts students bring to the stage this year!

HELMETS WITH HEROES: TWO SCHOOLS, ONE FAMILY

It was a special night for our Donna High Redskins and Donna North Chiefs as our student athletes welcomed the people who have been there cheering them on every step of the way.

During Helmets with Heroes, players had the opportunity to share a special moment with their heroes and place the decals on their helmets for the upcoming football season.

A hero can be a mom, dad, grandparent, sibling, coach, family member, or anyone who has made a difference in a young athlete’s life.

For our seniors, this moment carries an extra special meaning as they begin their final season. For others, it is the beginning of a new tradition and memories they will carry with them for years to come.

To all the parents, families, and loved ones who continue to show up, encourage, support, and believe in our student athletes, thank you. Your support is an important part of their journey both on and off the field.

The Friday night lights may shine on our players, but behind every athlete is a team of heroes who helped them get there.

Two schools. One community. Countless heroes.

Week three is underway across Donna ISD, and instruction is already in high action. Our teachers are focused, classrooms are engaged, and the work behind our district’s recent academic gains continues every day.

Goal 1 keeps student outcomes at the center: academic growth and graduating students on time, college, career, and military ready. Thank you to our teachers, campus administrators, and Curriculum & Instruction team for keeping that work moving forward every day.
