Wearing RED for Dyslexia Awareness!

Today, our J.P. LeNoir Elementary students proudly wore RED to show their support for Dyslexia Awareness Month!

By wearing red, our students helped spread awareness, promote understanding, and celebrate the unique strengths and abilities of individuals with dyslexia.

At J.P. LeNoir Elementary, we believe that every student learns differently, every mind is unique, and every child has the potential to succeed!

Thank you to all our students and staff who participated in today's special awareness day! Together, we can make a difference through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion!

Just a friendly reminder to our Donna ISD community that all campuses and district offices will be closed Friday, October 9 and Monday, October 12. There will be no classes on these days. Classes and regular district operations will resume Tuesday, October 13. Take time to recharge, enjoy the break, and we’ll see everyone back on Tuesday.

Join us for an evening of pizza, games, and family fun at our Chuck E. Cheese Library Fundraiser!

Funds raised will help the J.P. LeNoir Elementary Library purchase books, Accelerated Reader (AR) awards, and other library materials for our students. When we meet our fundraising goal, our library can receive up to 25% of qualifying sales!

Storybook Pumpkin Contest at J.P. LeNoir Elementary!

LeNoir families, let’s bring our favorite book characters to life! Decorate a pumpkin inspired by a storybook character and join our celebration of reading and creativity.

Pumpkins accepted: October 19–23, 2026
Winners announced: Wednesday, October 28
Pumpkin pickup: Friday, October 30

Contest reminders:
• Choose a book character. Movie and cartoon characters are not eligible.
• No carving! Decorate your pumpkin using paint, craft supplies, and your imagination.
• Artificial or plastic pumpkins are welcome and recommended.
• Place your student’s name underneath the pumpkin.

Three winners will be selected!

We can’t wait to see your creative storybook pumpkins!
